Carbon action-pilot is a research of soil carbon storage capacity

Agricultural soil holds an enormous potential to mitigate climate change by storing carbon. As part of Altia’s commitment to the Baltic Sea Action Group, Altia’s selected contract farmers will participate in the Carbon Action pilot by dedicating a section from their fields in order to study the impact of the farming practices on soil for a period of five years. Hannamari Koivula, Corporate Responsibility Manager at Altia wrote a blog from our standpoint for Climate-Soil-Baltic Sea (blog only in Finnish).
